📝 Blog Post:

If you’re looking for a short UK getaway that combines sea views, fresh coastal air, and plenty to explore, Ventnor on the Isle of Wight is the perfect destination.

At Flat 3 Ardmore House, we’ve welcomed guests from all over who love packing their weekend with both relaxation and adventure. Here’s our suggested 48-hour itinerary to make the most of your time in our beautiful corner of the island.

Day 1 – Friday Afternoon & Evening

⛴️ Arrive and Settle In Catch an afternoon ferry to the Isle of Wight — don’t forget our guests can enjoy discounted ferry travel. From the mainland, it’s a scenic journey that sets the tone for your trip.

🏡 Check in at Flat 3 Ardmore HouseDrop your bags, pour a drink, and take in the panoramic sea views from your window. Watch the waves and feel the stress melt away.

🍽️ Dinner in TownStroll into Ventnor for a relaxed dinner at The Smoking Lobster, known for its fusion of local seafood and Asian flavours, or opt for a cosy pub meal at The Spyglass Inn, right on the seafront.

Day 2 – Saturday

☀️ Morning Beach WalkStart the day with a walk along Ventnor Beach, coffee in hand. If you’ve brought your four-legged friend, head towards Steephill Cove along the coastal path — it’s picture-perfect and dog-friendly.

🌿 Visit Ventnor Botanic GardenSpend the late morning exploring exotic plants in a warm microclimate. Don’t miss the Mediterranean Garden and the seafront café.

🥗 Lunch at a Local Café Try London House for light bites and artisan ice cream, or pop into Tonys Tea room  for something warm and homemade.

🎭 Evening EntertainmentIf you’re visiting in summer, check out the Ventnor Fringe Festival for music, comedy, and street performers. Otherwise, enjoy a quiet evening back at the flat with local produce and a sea-view sunset.

Day 3 – Sunday Morning

🥞 Lazy Breakfast with a View Enjoy breakfast at the flat while watching the waves — or venture to a local favourite like The two Cooks  for a hearty brunch.

⛴️ Take the Scenic Route HomeBefore heading to the ferry, stop at Shanklin Old Village for quaint thatched cottages, gift shops, and a final cream tea.

💡 Pro Tip:For a relaxed weekend, keep travel light, book restaurants in advance during peak season, and make time to simply enjoy the views — they’re one of Ventnor’s greatest treasures.

📅 Book Your Perfect WeekendWhether it’s a last-minute escape or a planned celebration, we’d love to host you at Flat 3 Ardmore House

Paul’s Place is exceptional accommodation in a wonderful location. The flat was spotlessly clean and complete with absolutely everything you could possibly think of/need for a perfect stay. The view is breathtaking from the lounge and both bedrooms. It feels like a really special place to be. Paul & Jennifer were super helpful with their proactive and thoughtful communications. The area really spoils you for choice in terms of where to go and so their recommendations were much appreciated and proved to be exactly what we loved! We would definitely love to return in the future 😊
